Cucina Verona is excited to announce its official approval as a Blue Zones Project restaurant in Mendocino County, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to promoting health and well-being within our community.
The Blue Zones Project, founded by explorer and author Dan Buettner, is a community-wide initiative aimed at improving well-being by making healthy choices easier. Inspired by research in regions where people live exceptionally long and healthy lives ("Blue Zones"), it focuses on making permanent changes to the environment, policies, and social networks within a community's "Life Radius." This collaborative effort involves local leaders, businesses, schools, and residents to implement changes like creating walkable communities, improving access to healthy food, and promoting social connection.
Cucina Verona has earned this honor by implementing the following:
Sourcing produce locally to support sustainable and healthy eating
Promoting nutritious dishes designed for wellness
Hosting family night specials to foster togetherness
Providing a Market as an extension of their restaurant for easy access to an authentic Italian experience
To celebrate this new chapter for Cucina Verona, we invite you to join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, January 31st at 5 PM. Experience an evening of joy and community spirit with wine, healthy bites, and delightful giveaways, as well as live music by the talented Blackwren. Make a reservation here.
As we embrace this honor, our promise is to continue making healthy choices more accessible and enjoyable, enriching the well-being of our cherished community. Thank you for being part of our journey towards creating a more vibrant and healthy Mendocino County!
